A few important details to help make your Momma Bear Bonfire experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Weather & Rescheduling

We want every guest to have an amazing beach bonfire experience. Because our events take place outdoors, weather can sometimes be unpredictable, and we are unable to offer refunds due to weather conditions.

If the weather does not permit your bonfire, we’re happy to help move your reservation to another available date. Rescheduling requests must be made at least 1 business day before your scheduled bonfire and are subject to availability. A new $160 permit fee, plus any additional applicable permitting fees, will be required.

If rain is expected and you would simply like to move your bonfire to an earlier or later time that same day, we’re happy to accommodate when possible. Please contact us before noon on the day of your reservation.

Cancellations & Refunds

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your reservation, please contact us at least 2 business days before your scheduled bonfire.

Cancellations made within this timeframe are eligible for a refund minus the non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made less than 2 business days before your reservation, including same-day cancellations, are not eligible for a refund.

To cancel, please call (786) 478-9336 or email moroccomike@icloud.com

Beach Rules to Know

For the safety of our beaches and guests, glass containers of any kind are prohibited on the beach by county law and violations may result in significant fines.

Please plan accordingly and bring beverages in plastic or aluminum containers only.

Sea Turtle Nesting Season

Sea turtle nesting season runs from May through October, and occasionally a new nest may affect the location of a scheduled bonfire.

If a turtle nest prevents us from using your planned location, we will move your bonfire to the next available beach access. A new $160 temporary beach bonfire permit fee, plus any additional applicable permitting fees, will apply. Relocation due to a turtle nest does not qualify for a refund.

Countywide Fire Bans

During periods of severe drought or elevated fire risk, Walton County may issue a countywide fire ban that temporarily prohibits beach bonfires and the issuance of bonfire permits.

If a fire ban is still in effect on the date of your event, your payment will be issued as a transferable credit toward a future Momma Bear Bonfire rather than a refund. Once the ban has been lifted and your new date is scheduled, a new fire permit fee will also apply.

These bans are uncommon, but they are outside of our control and may occur at any time due to weather and fire conditions.

You bring the people. We’ll bring the fire.
